The ACO to Launch Their 2012 Season in $20 Grand Style!

The ACO announced last week the rules for their 2012 season as well as their first “Major” of the year.  The “Vidalia Cornhole Cup” along with $20,000 in cash prizes will be up for grabs next March 23-25, 2012 in Vidalia Georgia.  This is the first Major event in the 2012 ACO season that will feature local tournaments each month from March through November as well as four Major events during that time period including this first one in Georgia.

While specific prizes were not mentioned for the 2012 season, this is certainly a huge start to the year.  It’s more than double the guaranteed cash being given away at their King of Cornhole event and any other event the ACO has held to date.

The prizes will be split as follows:
- $1,000 in the Blind Draw Tournament
- $5,000 for their Singles Event
- $5,000 for their Doubles Event
- $5,000 in the Vidalia Cup Challenge (top “Team” at the event, teams are players that sign-up together in groups of 4)
- $4,000 to the top ACO-Pro’s in the Singles Event

Another big positive is that to enter the event it’s just $250 for a group of 4 players (or $62.50 per player).  Plus the payouts go quite deep as they are paying the top 64 in singles and top 32 in doubles!

I don’t understand why the ACO’s “main” event, the King of Cornhole has $9k in prize money and this first event of 2012 has $20k? It’s great, don’t get me wrong, but why do their other events shine so much brighter than their main event? Fountain Square, Indiana Beach and now this, all better.

Of course part of this money is now reserved for “ACO Pro’s” ($4k) and the “Crew” ($5k). That’s a completely different story, but whatever. And it’s a 3 hour drive from all major airports, that’s a bit rough too.

Oh well, good luck to the ACO Pro’s out there.

Pretty sure you can find negative in everything that the aco does.
