CPA Members Making a Difference
The CPA would like to thank members Gary Lewis and Dave Weiser for their recent donation to a Youth Center called “First Glance” in Akron, Ohio.
Recently Dave brought the Ohio Cornhole Tour to First Glance to raise money for the facility. While there participant Gary Lewis was kind enough to donate his set of Cornhole Players Association boards to First Glance and Dave donated a set of bags. These boards and bags will be used all the time at the Youth Center and the people at First Glance were extremely grateful. Gary who also works in the Akron area also offered to stop in at times to help teach the kids how to pitch. As we all know, Gary is one of the best players in the country, so that’s quite an offer for the kids of Akron!
Thank You CPA members for your generosity and dedication towards growing the game we love!

Players Championship – POSTPONED – Please Read
ATTENTION:
Unfortunately the Players Championship on January, 28 in Roanoke Rapids, NC will need to be postponed for several weeks. The reason being; a possible delay in opening the new hot spot for pitching bags, The Double R Sports Bar in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
The host director thought it would be best to not take a chance and have to make an announcement several days before if things do not go just perfectly to get the doors opened.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope to see you in the next several weeks. Please keep checking back on facebook and the CPA tournament page for updates.
CPA Year 2012
CPA Fans,
As we welcome in the New Year you will start seeing some changes on our website. Recently we’ve updated our wording some and have decided to use the word “certified” instead of “approved” when referring to CPA Tournament Directors and Vendors. This terminology is important to us and you should feel proud to represent the “certified” designation. The CPA takes great pride in partnering and assisting those who conform to our high standards. Being CPA Certified means you have more credibility as you approach sponsors.
If you would like more information on how to become CPA certified, feel free to drop us an email. It’s a great honor but more importantly, it will help you become more successful because we will be right there to support and promote you.
Throughout the year we will continue to reach out to tournament directors, vendors and players to help support the growth of the game through consistency. A few initiatives include a handicap and format system for league directors, a ranking system to measure players around the country and an option for directors to help control their events which will increase player turnout.
For the Good of the Game!
